Life GPS holds faith as a layer of the path — the constraints and the rhythm a person's route runs inside — rather than as a tenth category, a content section, or a preference to be inferred.
The system does not tell a person what to believe, does not derive their beliefs from data about them, and does not replace the questions faith answers with its own correct answer. It takes the frame the person brings and works inside it.

The question this page answers
For anyone working on technology and human dignity, the question is not whether a product has a "religion section". It is this:
How does a system account for a person's faith without taking for itself the right to define it for them?
That question has a technical answer in our case, and it is the reason this page exists.
Faith is a layer, not a category
A category would mean: here is a sphere called spirituality, with content and tasks in it, alongside fitness and finance.
A layer means something different. A person's faith sets constraints — things that are not done, times that are not available, obligations that outrank convenience — and a rhythm: days, seasons, practices that structure a year rather than an app session. Those constraints and that rhythm apply across the whole route, in every sphere, not inside one box.
That is how it is built. A route that ignores a fast, a sabbath, a prayer time or an obligation is not a route for that person, no matter how well optimised it is for their goals.

Identity does not become a label
This is a constraint written into the constitution of the system, not a policy statement:
Belonging to a faith, a culture or a group does not by itself generate constraints until the person has confirmed them. — Principle 3, of the eighteen
Systems that infer religion from behaviour and then act on the inference are making a decision about a person's inner life on statistical grounds. Ours is not permitted to. A constraint exists because the person named it. If they change it, it changes. If they remove it, it is gone.
Doors — entering through your own frame
A person does not have to accept our framing of a good life in order to use the system. They can enter through their own: through their faith, through a philosophical tradition, through values they hold for reasons they do not have to explain to us.
The system then works inside that frame rather than negotiating with it.

What the system does not touch
There are questions a person's faith answers that a system has no standing to answer: what a life is for, what is owed to others, what happens at the end, what is sacred.
Life GPS is built to leave them alone. It can hold the constraints that follow from an answer. It cannot supply the answer, and it is not designed to make the question feel unnecessary.
The same applies to love, meaning and identity. They are the parts of a person a system should carry, not optimise.
Why we think this matters beyond us
What follows is our position and the risk as we see it — not a research finding. The research page on AI and faith is where evidence will go when we have it.
Two things are converging.
Systems are moving from answering to acting on people's behalf — planning, deciding, buying, scheduling. An agent that reorganises a life without a concept of the obligations in it will reorganise those obligations away, not out of malice but out of optimisation.
And AI is becoming an everyday interlocutor. Our concern — stated as a concern, not as a measured effect — is that a model built to be agreeable is a poor place to bring a question of conscience, and a poor substitute for the person or community who would otherwise have been asked.
The principle we work from: technology should help a person hold what they believe, not quietly dissolve it.

We do not claim any religious authority, endorsement, approval or certification — from any confession, institution or body. Nothing on this page should be read as a statement that anyone has reviewed or approved this product.
We do not claim to have solved this. We claim to have written the constraint down before the code, published it, and built the product inside it — which can be checked.
For religious institutions and interfaith bodies
We would like the conversation, in this order: what a system holding a whole human life must never be allowed to do · where our eighteen constraints are insufficient · and what a person's dignity requires from technology that acts on their behalf.
